Simon Hales

Simon suffered a severe traumatic brain injury whilst an undergraduate at Newcastle University in 2009. He was in a coma for 5 weeks, has learnt to swallow, talk and walk again and has battled ever since to regain his independence allowing himself to be the subject of a Channel 4 Cutting Edge Documentary - My New Brain - not only exposing his shortfalls but giving a moving and powerful portrayal and raising awareness of others. He now travels to schools and groups to talk about the dangers and to generally educate others on the disability that brain injury can bring. He is a true inspiration.
