Ever since moving to Salisbury 26 years ago he has been involved with helping his adopted community. Initially as a member of the Salisbury Round Table he was involved in raising thousands of pounds for local charities. He served twice as a school governor for two different schools for over sixteen years and for the past twenty years, although now commuting to London, continues to sit as a magistrate on the South East Wiltshire Bench.
