Shirley Bolin

Operation Goodwill began at Orange Lake Resort, home to Holiday Inn Club Vacations®, more than 25 years ago when our founder's wife and one of our legacy employees, Shirley Bolin, came up with an idea to "recycle" linens no longer in use. Rather than throwing away these blankets, sheets and towels, they decided to give the items to organizations who could put them to work. Shirley remains the champion for this amazing program today. Examples of the impact this program has made include:

o Distribution to:

- Orphanages and children's cancer facilities in Russia.

- Facilities for the disabled in Zambia and Mexico.

- Earthquake victims in Armenia, Honduras and Haiti.

o For relief efforts and homeless shelters in areas affected by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana and Hurricane Andrew in Miami.

o Gulf oil spill: used on rescued seabirds and animals affected by the oil.
