Sheila Mcneill

Whilst more keen on sport than book studies at school, I never dared dream of anything like the Olympics ever featuring in my life as I ran up and down the hockey pitch or around the running track with the relay baton or flopped into the long-jump pit! Then my interests turned to equine pursuits and, in my role with the British Driving Society (Scotland) as area commissioner for the West of Scotland, I enjoy encouraging others into the carriage driving world which is definitely a sport for all, embracing all ages and abilities. I am thrilled and honoured to be given this once-in-a-lifetime chance to be a torchbearer for London 2012.
