Sheila's nomination story

My dad was diagnosed with terminal cancer in his liver, lungs & kidneys 4 weeks ago & told he had 6 months to live. He lasted 3 & half weeks. During this time my mum (& I) cared for my Dad at home & it was the hardest thing I have ever done. However I feel it has made me a better person because of what we all went through. My mum said she could not have done it without me, but really it is the other way around, & this is why she is my hero. Also my dad is my hero as they way he dealt with dying made me so proud of him as he was very brave & not afraid at all, however obviously he cannot carry the torch now as he is in heaven. My mum can & I know she would love to as there will not be another Olympics in her lifetime in London (& she loves the Olympics) & all this has made me realise how precious & short life is, that is why I am nominating her.
