Shaun's nomination story

Shaun is a Year 7 pupil with moderate learning difficulties who has attended Ashgate Croft Special School from the age of 7. In recent months it has been noted that he is beginning to mature into a sensible young man with a very positive attitude towards work. He always tries his best and is enthusiastic and keen to learn and to succeed. He is a very polite boy and has a caring and friendly attitude towards his peers. His class teacher says that Shaun has a postive effect on his class mates who appear to respect his quiet manner. Shaun is becoming an excellent leader, both in his class setting and around school in general. personal achievements this year include excellent progress in reading and writing along with a new determination to follow his physiotherapy programme. Shaun has been following an independant travel programme and is now capable of walking the short distance to school without an adult. This is an excellent achievement. In short Shaun is an inspiration to his peers and in the opinion of school staff deserves his moment to shine.
