Shaun Andrews

I wish nominate Shaun as an Olympic Torch Bearer. Shaun is 39 years old and works as a Fire Fighter in Suffolk. He is a keen/fanatical BMX rider who finished fourth in his respective age group at last years World Championships in South Africa. Shaun has been racing BMX bikes competitively for over 20 years and still finds time to train & compete at the highest possible level despite hectic work & family commitments. I believe Shaun would make an inspirational torch bearer. Over the years he has dedicated much of his spare time encouraging young people to ride, race & express themselves through BMX. Either through his past role as regional secretary for British Cycling BMX East Anglia or as a role model & unofficial coach to children at his local track in Ipswich. Shaun continues to be actively involved with his local BMX club & has recently begun an unpaid community role at work, assisting with the new Fire Fighter Fit & Healthy Kids scheme.
