Sharon's son has been a member of Swindon Dolphin ASC for 7 years. She volunteers with the Club to help achieve success, and she was enlisted to help at Open Meets, undertaking various roles. Four years ago, she was nominated to be Club Secretary and a member of the Executive Committee responsible for running the Club. She manages the Fundraising and Social Sub-Teams. She helps with all Club disciplinary, welfare and child protection issues. Sharon is responsible for organising Overseas Training Camps and a UK Based Training Camp. In 2009 she participated in a UK Based Training Camp, taking 51 swimmers aged 8-14 on a 5 day residential camp to the Isle of Wight. In 2010 she participated in another UK Based Training Camp, taking 18 swimmers aged 10-17 to PGL in North Devon for 5 days, and she is currently busy organising trips to Spain and North Devon which take place in October 2011. She became a volunteer for the British Heart Foundation in 2005, as a Committee member of the Swindon Branch. Initially she was a Schools Co-ordinator, which involved liaising with local primary schools to encourage participation in the Jump Rope for Heart scheme. I then moved to the role of Volunteer Events Organiser in Swindon. Each year I organise a Family Cycle Ride in Swindon to raise funds for the British Heart Foundation, and Sharon helps with collections to support the Heart Foundation at local retail outlets.
