Sharon's nomination story

Before 2006 there was no After School Club in Harnham to look after children who's parents couldn't pick them up from school when it ended, due to work or other issues. The headmistress of Harnham Infant School was looking for someone to run such a club, and after it was suggested to Sharon that she should run it, she volunteered. 5 years later and the After School Club has become a valued part of school life in Harnham, looking after around 60 children overall, and providing ease to parents working long hours or otherwise. It can be said, without doubt, that without Sharon's commitment to the Club it would not have enjoyed the success it does today. More recently, she and the other people working at the Club teamed up to run the Race for Life. She has also given up smoking after being an on-and-off smoker for twenty years, and taken up running. She is an inspiration to us all.
