In Shaneice we see an unlikely marriage of a 'Looked After Child' who despite being in foster care has committed herself to caring and improving the lives of other youngsters and who is passionate about this. A voice for young people, health promotion and community spirit are her watchwords. Applying her vocational knowledge in the community setting she helps, supports and guides others in a friendly caring fashion. From being a Director on the board of 'Us Unltd', a drop in advice centre for young homeless people in Flintshire, to secret shopper, Shaneice is keen to do whatever she can to highlight discrimination and promote positivity. As a health and care student at Deeside College she has studied hard and gained good grades depite all her extra activities She is passionate about improving health and care provisions for teens and actively participates in the care leaders support network, ensuring that advice for those leaving care is specific, realistic and informative. Whether conversing with peers, addressing the media or presenting to the First Minister , her vocational course has boosted her confidence and provided underpinning knowledge which has helped her achieve success and why she has been named Inspirational Young Woman of the Year 2011
