Serena's nomination story

Serena broke her neck in four places in a car crash 2 years ago. She suffered Spinal cord injuries and temporary paralysis in her arms. She has battled back with a sheer force of will and drive I have never seen in someone before - after 9 month she was back at work part time and after 12 working full time. Following her time in hospital and meeting many other people with Spinal injuries she became passionate about helping others through the charity Aspire. She has organised charity events to raise money and helped promote Aspire throughout the southwest and has been nominated as an Aspire ambassador by the charity. Serena is planning to climb Mount Kiimanjaro to raise further funds and demonstrate what is possible to achieve. Serena is caring, driven and inspirational.
