Sean is an inspiration to everyone he meet,s Sean has Downs Syndrome and this has never held him back from doing what he wants to do, Sean went to mainstream school until the age of 18 then went on to Cantraybridge Rural Skills College in Inverness for farming, gardening and estate work. Sean now lives back in Orkney living independently half of the week in my own house in Kirkwall, and the other half at his family home with his parents and brother Euan, who also has Downs Syndrome, on the island of Hoy, where Sean has a farm which his parents help him to manage, Sean also works in Kirkwall and has a Saturday job on the island, Sean also does a lot of volunteer work in Orkney. Sean represented Orkney last year at the Commenwealth Games in India as part of the Youth Group that took part in the handover ceremony, Sean is an ambassador for Downs Syndrome, he loves music, he plays the accordian and the drums and adores Scottish Dancing, Sean loves to spend time with both the elderly and the young, I work for Crossroads and have worked with Sean and his brother for 12 years, they are an inspiration to me and all they meet. Sean is a polite, friendly and outgoing young man and would be an ideal candidate as a torchbearer in Orkney.
