Sean's nomination story

In March 2011 my 20 year old son Sean's grandmother was diagnosed with Cancer. He decided he wanted to raise money for Cancer Research UK and to do this he planned and funded a gruelling 10 day solo cycle trip in which he flew to Zurich and then cycled from Zurich to the Hook of Holland . He practised for many hours around Norfolk. He raised over £1000 for Cancer Research within 2 months via the Just Giving Charity website. He is a student at the UEA, ex Wymondham High School pupil and part time steward at The Dell Bowls Club Wymondham. He was amazed at the support he received from his work & university colleagues & friends & his family & from the whole community. While he was away his grandmother deteriorated and sadly died 4 days before he returned. It was her wish that he was not contacted while he was away so he did not know that she had died until his Dad met him in Harwich.
