Scott's nomination story

Through BP's relationship with VSA, BP is proud to nominate Scott McIver. Scott has achieved excellence by overcoming the many and diverse challenges created by his wide range of disabilities, and his restricted academic opportunities. He has accepted his disabilities, showed great endeavour and determination to achieve academic excellence beyond everyone's expectations. Scott gained Standard Grades and three Highers, including a grade A. He is now in his second year of a degree course at Robert Gordon's University. He shows respect and caring for others through his volunteer work, and his stated belief that he has a duty to volunteer - to give something back to the children of a Special Needs club from which he previously gained so much himself. His achievements and the very real friendship he shows to the children he helps to support are an inspiration to those children, and motivation to fellow volunteers and staff, who are proud to work with him.
