Sarah Milner Simonds

Sarah is a community gardener. She is amazing. She gets people out of their homes, meeting their neighbours, growing fruit and vegetables that are relevant to their cultural identity. They tend the crops together, share the produce and then Sarah invites local chefs into the gardens to cook (often outdoors) with the participants - helping them to remove dependency on ready meals and poor quality food. She does this on disused pieces of land; creating allotments were once people dumped rubbish. She works in the most deprived areas helping those who need it most - often tackling issues such as neighbour disputes, noise and isolation along the way. The impact on people's physical and mental well being is immense - she is one woman green revolution!
