As a peripatetic teacher for those with a visual impairment Sarah has been a driving force in the 'No Limits' programme that enables the youngsters to participate in a wide variety of adventurous and exciting activities that they would not normally have access to. The No Limits programme of activities aims to support the personalised curriculum for children with a visual impairment. The activities run both in and out of school time and focus on developing key skills including independence, social and mobility skills.
Activities in school time focus on curriculum goals and are aimed at specific key stage groups. We work closely with schools to ensure that these days are classed as an educational visit supporting the curriculum rather than an absence from school.
She leads by example whether up a mountain or down a cave; up a tree or in a canoe ! Sarah has boundless enthusiasm which is infectious to both colleagues and the children. She is always on the look out for the next challenge to present to her charges. These are often life changing experiences valued especially by their parents.
I can think of no one better who deserves the honour of carrying the Olympic flame.
