My mother works in the local post office over the years she has forged strong links with the local community in particular the senior citizens. Many of them have no other family and rely heavily on the support of my mother. One particular incident involved a 90 year old resident who lived alone and closest relatives lived in Spain, this individual unfortunately suffered a horrific fall which resulted in her being admitted to hospital. My mother was the first to arrive at the hospital she arranged her medical care, contacted her family and ensured she was made comfortable. She ensured she supported her daily until her family came from Spain. My mother is the first port of call for many locals. In addition to this annually my mother and father carry out fund raising events at christmas to raise money for the local children hospital, with the money raised they take gifts on Xmas eve.
