Sara founded a neighbourhood watch group in her area which now has 70 members and has been instrumental in bringing total strangers together to build a diverse multicultural community. She liaises regularly with police who have commended her work and helped promote the local Safer Neighbourhood team. The group meet regularly and tackle problems like illegal parking to make their streets safer. Sara is active in her local church and qualified as a special minister. She takes communion to frail and elderly parishioners enabling them to practice their faith and keep them involved in the community. She runs a catechism class for children, with topics such as the wonders of the world and where our food comes from. Activities include making bread by grinding corn to highlight how difficult it is to make food for yourself if you don't have the luxury of popping to the shops.
