Sally's nomination story

Sally is an inspirational, committed and capable woman who has led from the front throughout her life. Her successful career in Army show cased success for women. The first woman to be promoted to Lieutenant Colonel in the Royal Military Police, she carved out a path of professional, first class service in often dangerous operational theatres including Iraq, Kosovo and Bosnia. In all environments she has led from the front and been a part of Britain's commitment to making a difference. Sally has led the way for women clearly showing how to achieve success in a world traditionally led by men. She has demonstrated that skill, talent and commitment to being the best can achieve real results. Sally represents to young women that a desire to succeed can make a difference. Now a civilian, as a touch bearer for Dorset she can continue to trail blaze, carrying the flame!
