Sally is the Chief Officer of Age UK York, in her time with the organisation she has pushed forward the idea that everyone, regardless of age can benefit from exercise. Under her leadership we have trained seated aerobic instructors and introduced the idea of music and gentle movement to many many older people in York. She leads by example having taken part in half and full marathon runs to raise funds through sponsorship. She funded the purchase of a Wii and now our older folk enjoy virtual games like tennis and ten pin bowling. She has taken up cycling and can be seen cycling all over York, her panniers loaded with papers for meetings and hair blowing out from under her helmet, doing her bit to keep York's air clean Our clients who take part in these sessions all comment that they are less stiff and breathe more effectively after doing even a small amount of moves, Sally is a worthy torchbearer for her work for older people in York.
