Ryan was born without a right hand, yet he has never let this hold him back in anyway. From a very early age he has shown an unbelieveable determination in everything he does. Ryan has never let his disability deter him from having a go, if he can't do something one way he will keep trying till he finds another . Ryan learn't to swim at a young age and showed great potential. After attending a paralympic talent day he was invited to join a local swim club, there Ryan quickly progressed and was transferred to City of Sheffield Swim Squad where he trains five times a week and continues to progress week on week. Ryan also represents Yorkshire and Humberside Disability Swim Team and has recently competed in the Junior Nationals and also the British Internationals where several medals were achieved. I know it is his lifes ambition to represent his country in the Paralympics one day. ( if not 2012 then hopefully 2016!) I think that Ryan is truly inspirational, he not only strives to reach the top in all he does, but he does it without self acclamation. Ryan would make a great representative of swimming in Sheffield and the way Disability Sports are viewed. A TRUE PARALYMPIAN OF THE FUTURE.
