In the community and with The Salvation Army he is regularly working with younger people in sports programmes and this makes them happyAs the Salvation Army's Divisional Youth Officer in Yorkshire I encourage our churches to use sports as a means of engaging with young people and teaching them about life issues like dealing with success and failure working as a team discipline and playing by the rules. At present I am helping to run a sports clubs and also organise an annual summer camp where as part of that we play sport and also learn about the values above. I also encourage our 60 churches to do the same as a way of serving their local community. We are also encouraging and training them to look at the following opportunities with the Olympics coming up: Holiday Clubs & sports themed events Community Festivals Athlete family hospitality Serving drinks at venues
