Ryan Speirs

Ryan has shown outstanding commitment to Carrick Academy in his short time with us. He has an infectious enthusiasm towards school life and, in particular, sport. Ryan has been excellent for our Under 13's football team this year scoring 7 goals! When Ryan nominated himself to become a Torchbearer his reasons included: "I love the Olympics, I'm good at sport, I work hard and behave in class, it would be an honour to represent Carrick Academy." Ryan's teachers have made comment on his teamwork and leadership skills. He uses his own initiative to help others improve. Ryan is very popular amongst his peers; he was recently voted 'Pupil of the Block' for his efforts in his P.E. class. Our school operates a merits and de-merits system, since August 2011, Ryan has a fantastic total of '30' merits and '0' de-merits. For these reasons along with many others, Ryan deserves this.
