Ryan Metcalfe

Ryan is a complete inspiration. He gives up one morning and evening a week to volunteer with handicapped children, giving the parents respite. He has spent his summer going on 3 different voluntary holidays, taking children and adults with a variety of disabilities away. He has also previously spent 3 summers on a handicapped children's camp in America. He is now training to be a learning disabilities nurse. He always puts the needs of those with disabilities ahead of himself and will fight for their respect and dignity whenever he can. To watch him talk to, play with and interact with children and adults with severe needs is very moving and nothing ever seems to faze him. He brings a smile to everyones face, those he cares for, their parents and his fellow volunteers, with his zest for life and passion for helping others with great fun and enthusiasm. This is his life and his vocation.
