Ryan's nomination story

Ryan has always worked very hard at school.been a House Captain, loves sport particularly athletics, football and tennis. He is very responsible,an example to others, trusted and currently wants to become a police officer after going to university. The reason for his nomination however is that he has achieved all of this so far while also being a Young Carer. Both his parents suffer from M.E & diabetes, and his father also has Crohn's disease & agoraphobia. Ryan has helped greatly by going food shopping, gardening, and looking after his younger brother Harry, now 11, All at a time when he could be playing more with his friends and not having to worry about his parents.. He will not have the opportunity to visit the Olympics 2012 in London He is a modest boy but I feel he deserves to have both his school efforts and home caring rewarded. There could be no greater chance in a lifetime.to do this than by being given the honour of carrying the Olympic Torch, something he would appreciate the privilege and significance of carrying.
