Ryan has suffered with painful psoriasis of the joints from a young age, yet at the age of 18 cycled alone for over 180 miles from Birmingham to Middlesbrough to raise over £2500 for Cystic Fibrosis trust after meeting a young boy who suffered from the condition. The ride was difficult and painful and meant that for a numbers of years afterwards he suffered considerable discomfort himself. Despite this he has become a Police Community Support Officer - a role that he enjoys as feels he is helping the community in which he works. He is now about to battle through the pain his Psoriasis brings and take part in the Great North Run raising money for the make a wish foundation who help children with life-threatening medical conditions Carrying the torch for the olympics would be a fantastic reward for battling the pain barrier he faces everyday in helping communities & charities.
