I am a pilot. At night, I work transporting medical teams and donor organs. I've been doing this for so long that I've lost any sense of how important these flights are. One night, however, a woman reminded me what I was doing. In this case, she was the patient flying to have a transplant. We had arrived at our destination?the place where she would be starting her new life. As she got off the airplane, she looked at me and said, "You are angels." That night, more than any other, I felt as though I had done something important.
