Rose has always put others first. At primary school she would be the one organising cake sales etc for Blue Peter appeals, at Cheadle High School she organised regular events for children in need and always took part in sponored swims etc. She jointly organised a talent show for the local childrens ward. She joined St Johns ambulance as soon as she was old enough and did regular duties at local events until she left at 17 years old. She then joined the TA as a medic. At 16 years old she started her training as a nurse and won a place on the local nurse cadet scheme. She did a parachute jump to raise funds for the local Douglas Macmillan hospice at 17 years old. since then she has done the London Marathon to raise funds for the Back-up trust which she also donates time to on an anual basis to be able to offer her nursing skills to paraplegic patients who need 24 hour care. She has been able to nurse and support patients whilst they are given the chance to learn a skill they never ever thought would be possible.....skiing,sailing and even pushing a wheel chair up a mountain side!. On becoming a qualified nurse Rose has always worked in intensive care and the multiple injuries unit but she did take 6 months out to travel. she spent 6 weeks in Ghana volunteering at a hospital and a childrens home. I am very proud of my daughter although she thinks its all normal! She is getting married this year and being accepted as a Torchbearer would be the icing on the cake for her!
