I would like to nominate my husband, he is a sporty person. But since retiring 2 years ago he decided he wanted to give something back to our local community in the Norwich area. So firstly he went into a local primary school and ask if they would like him to coach the pupils athletics free of charge. They were very enthusiastic and he started going in 1 a week to coach the pupils athletics. He decided he would like to help special needs children so he contacted a school (Chapel Road School Attleborough) they again were overjoyed to think someone wanted to give their time to there children. He began going into this school 2 years ago, but was very sad to find that they had little or no equipment for the children he has his own equipment which he took in with him to use with them. But when he was not there they had literally nothing so with their permission he set about fund raising to buy special equipment these children can use they now have their own equipment with more to follow. To see the childrens faces on just being able to do something different instead of just being restricted to their special needs chairs etc is absolutely fantastic. He has not stopped there as his name as got round and he now coaches at least 15+ plus schools in our area some of this is now paid work but he loves every minute he spends with the children. He his Head Coach of Wymondham A.C. Level 3 UK Athletics Coach. THE CHILDREN KNOW HIM AS COACH RON had a hip replacement 2 years
