Roma Macleod

Roma is 19 years old and in 2 years she has been an inspirational figure in Hebridean Chocolates, a community owned social business providing training for young people with additional needs. She has completed her Modern Apprenticeship in a record 2 years and provides daily support to our participants with additional needs and has taken on responsibilities well beyond her years. Every day, she works to make sure that the chocolate is ready for us all to use and she has befriended many of our young participants outside of work, making their journey to adulthood a little easier. she does this without compromise - nobody could ever accuse Roma of gratuitous niceness! - but with a real sense of fun and a quiet understanding of the very special obstacles that our clients encounter. She is one of the reasons why the business was awarded Scottish Social Enterprise Start of of the Year 2011.
