I am nominating my father, my hero and many other peoples too. My father as well as being a Fireman also helps out at the weekends with the ATC (Air Training Corps) youths by teaching them how to fly a Glider. ATC teaches discipline and helps as an organisation to teach kids discipline and keeps them off the street. My father is an advocate of this and he also loves teaching the kids to fly/ glide as this is something he is passionate about as well. When he is not gliding and doing his day job as a fireman at the oil refinery. He puts his skills to good use other places. He has an EMT qualification and if ever he sees people on the roadside or in the street in need of first aid he always stops to help out. He does not see being a life saver as just his work he beleives that its his duty to the community to help protect and save them. In his spare time he likes to go cycling, he usually takes his family along with him as he is a big advocate of getting us all fit and to tackle obesity. It is mainly me and my mother he encourages to exercise with him as my brother and sister are big exercisers. However to make sure that we all spend family time together we will all cycle together or go and fly a kite or go for a walk. My father financially always helps us out whenever we are in need and always does favours for his friends and work colleagues. He is a good kind man and I really would like him to represent his home town Cleethorpes by carrying the torch and being an inspiration.
