Roger Budd

I nominate Roger Budd to take part in the Olympic Torch Relay. Over the last 4 years he has tirelessly raised funds to make grants totalling over £100,000 through the charitable trust 'Kids in Sport'. This is a trust set up by Roger and his wife Pam in memory of their only and beloved son Julian. Julian at the age of 33 was lost to a fatal throat infection under tragic circumstances. An active sportsman himself, Julian raised money for children by running the London Marathon amongst other activities. In his memory it was natural to continue what he had started. 'Kids in Sport' is a non profit making charitable trust that raises money to give children, who otherwise would not have the opportunity, a chance to take part in sports. Roger commits a large part of his life and private funds to give these children a chance in life they would not otherwise have had.
