Rod's nomination story

Rod is the leader of the Scouts section of my local scout group. As a volunteer, Rod is expected to donate approximately 80-100 hours per annum to run the weekly sessions. Rod, in fact, donates something in the region of 800 -1000 hours a year (as well as having a full time job), and doesn't complain! In fact he would do more if he were able to as he thrives on seeing the members of the scouts section grow into responsible members of society! Rod delivers practical skills based training on all aspects of adult life as well as the traditional scouting skills. He seeks the views of his group to set common goals and then works tirelessly both behind the scenes, at the hall and on camping trips (of which he does many -and the kids love it), to ensure they can achieve those goals and aspirations within the Group and be inspired to do more. A selfless individual and a fantastic role model.
