Rodger Davies

My brother-in-law, Rodger Davies founded Prestwich Athletic Club almost 25 years ago, a local running club in Prestwich, Manchester, for adults and children. As well as providing a much needed and welcome facility for the local community, every year he has organised a charity run which has raised in excess of £50,000. This money has funded a wheelchair, sensory equipment for the blind and specialist equipment for children with special needs to name but a few. These all enhance the daily lives of the individuals concerned. During this time he has also run over 30 marathons himself, as well as running his own successful business.18 months ago Rodger was diagnosed with early onset Parkinsons Disease but despite this has carried on raising money for charity and working. He is selfless in his determination and he would be a very worthy and proud participant.
