Rob is an extremely dedicated teacher who is responsible for leading PE at my school (St. Charles RC Primary, Hull). In his spare time he is currently the chairman of Beverley Athletics Club, Chair of the Humber Road Running Group, an athletics coach, and a Leader in Running Fittness. Rob has always been passionate about sport. In his youth he played a variety of sports to a good level and in recent years he has devoted hours of his time encouraging youngsters to try their hand at many different sports. In school he has developed a wide ranging programme of sporting opportunities for children in challenging inner-city circumstances, including sports designed for children with special needs. On many evenings after school he is found transporting children to and from sporting events when their parents are unable to support after-school activities, He gives up time at week-ends to take children to competitions inspite of having young children of his own. He has organised community sports events in Beverley, and using his role within Beverley A.C. he is currently liasing with local sporting clubs and the council to promote healthy lifestyle initiatives across East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. Rob always gives 100% to everything he takes on, and is prepared to go the extra mile to give opportunities to all our children. It would be so exciting for the pupils at our school to see their PE teacher carrying the Olympic Torch as a reward for his selfless dedication to sport.
