Bob's nomination story

Bob is a remarkable man living by the Olympian spirit. He has devoted his life to helping people. A local London lad, he is Vicar of St Stephen's, Shepherd's Bush and has transformed an ailing parish into a thriving, multi-cultural and harmonious community. Attendance is up 300%. He has played a major part in transforming his Church School from 'special measures' to 'outstanding', awarded by OFSTED this year. He runs a host of out-reach projects, raised funds to build a new church hall for sunday school activities, playgroups and introduced line dancing for the elderly and regular cinema nights and hospitality for homeless people. He has a long-standing commitment to help young people and is Trustee for Bermondsey Youth Centre. He is a scholar, published author and columnist for the Church newspaper. Bob embraces life and adores sport - as Chaplain to QPR, he knows its challenges and joys! He is chaplain to H&Fulham Police. His other passion is running. He has run a dozen marathons and parishioners regularly run with him. This is against a background of epilepsy of up to 5 seizures a day. In February he underwent an arduous and life-threatening 13hr brain operation to cure it. Sadly, after 3 months recovery, the seizures have returned but he is back at work, more determined than ever and running. His Olympian spirit prevails. He is an inspiration to all his parishioners. We are very proud to nominate such a special person. We really hope he wins your vote!
