Bobby's nomination story

Bobby Gordon is an individual with a learning disability who has a big interest in sport. A huge fan of Aberdeen Football Club, Bobby holds a season ticket and rarely misses a game. Over the last year and a half he has become a keen runner, even entering a local 10k race twice to raise money for the charity that supports him. Despite his disability he completed the 10k route in a very impressive 1hr 13mins. His generosity and willingness to help others doesn't stop at running races, he volunteers at every opportunity he gets and has become as essential member of the fundraising team of the charity that supports him. To be selected as a torchbearer would be the highlight of his year. The enthusiasm and dedication that he shows to sporting activities is admirable and his determination not to let his disability slow him down is a true inspiration.
