Paul's nomination story

For the last 25 years, Paul, of Thames Valley Amateur Boxing Clubs` passion for boxing has proved an inspiration for the hundreds of local boys and girls he has coached. Paul gives tireless of his time, enthusiasm and money, to ensure local boys and girls develop their skills, channelling their energies into a shared love of the boxing game. Energies which might have otherwise led them astray. He welcomes all, what ever their background, to his club, giving freely of his time to help them. Paul: 1) Runs twice weekly training sessions for all his boxers 2) Spends additional time training those he feels might stray into trouble 3) Actively fund raises throughout the local community to pay for the gym he hires out at a local school, and for the area`s local boxing championships. 4) Takes his boxers the length and breath of the country to compete 5) Has engaged national champions to spar with his boxers to help develop their skills 6) Developed the profile of the sport in the Thames Valley area. Paul`s dedication and determination to see his team achieve to their fullest potential has led to some representing their country at international competitions. Others have competed at national and regional level. He has earned the respect of those he coaches, with many regarding him as a second father. Also the respect and support of the local community for his efforts. Paul`s motto is: `The will has to be stronger than the skill!`
