The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust has been working on the front line of. wildlife protection and conservation since its inception in 1977. After. witnessing first-hand the impact and terrible suffering caused by the. illegal poaching of wildlife, both on the victim and any dependent young,. and the lifesaving actions of the DSWT in the field to protect wildlife, Rob. was moved to establish the DSWT as a charity in the UK. The aim is. simple, to identify and act on every fair opportunity to educate and inform the public as to the threats being faced by elephants and rhinos every day in Kenya and the part we can each play in protecting these endangered animals. Most importantly perhaps, to help educate. and support impoverished children living alongside wildlife, so that they. can learn the value of wildlife, the role it plays in their ecosystem and. the importance of protecting these animals and finding ways to live together in harmony, as opposed to conflict. Rob manages an education program for the local children who are bused from their schools along to the orphanage and are allowed to interact with the orphans at play time.. Rob not only does all of the above with great passion and dedication but he also works extremely hard each day, securing powdered baby milk and blankets which he then sends down to Kenya, without these basic items none of the orphaned babies would not survive. .
