Rita Banks

Rita Banks has been an active member of her community throughout her life and is especially involved in her local community through her passion for running.  Rita has been a member of and helped run local running clubs for almost 40 years and still regularly takes part in events and also takes on other duties when she is not competing, such as acting as a Marshall to help local running events take place and ensure the safety of competitors.  However what Rita is possibly best known for in her community is her personal records and whilst she still continues to compete and win medals, her most notable achievement was probably some years ago when she undertook the challenge of completing 52 marathons in a year and securing a world record which still stands.  She has also run over 200 marathons and run for England many times.
