Dick Palmer

Dick has been involved in the Olympic Movement for over 34 years and is well respected throughout the Olympic world both in Britain and abroad. As General Secretary of the BOA for 22 years he oversaw the growth of the BOA from a full time staff of just seven in 1976 and has always remained approachable and generous with his time and knowledge.   Dick was a member of the London 2012 Bid Team and also worked for many years with Olympic Solidarity on their Sports Administration Courses and has held positions within the EOC and ANOC.   Dick is still sharing his vast knowledge today as a Tutor on the Olympic Solidarity MEMOS Programme and therefore continues to inspire those who meet and work with him. In all that Dick has done and each accolade which has been bestowed upon him, his humility has remained foremost of all his characteristics.
