Rich Opperman

Richard is an assistant manager of a gym at the Barcelo Country Hotel and well know in the Hook area of Hampshire. Whenever he is shopping in Tesco all you hear is 'Hi Richard', 'Hello Richard!' from all is members and friends from the gym! He works very hard and is totally dedicated to his job and the members.

Richard lost his brother and Dad to cancer as a young man and has been running marathons raising money for cancer. Last year he ran four marathons. He plans to cycle home to South Africa one day to raise money for cancer research!

He is always there for his friends. One of his members was tragically killed in a car crash recently and he has been a great support to Denise, Gary's girlfriend, escorting her to the funeral and calling her to make sure that she is ok. He didn't think of his own sadness or loss.

Richard would be honoured to carry the Olympic Flame and I hope that you will chose him.
