Richard Lynas

He has worked for 21 years helping abandoned orphaned and disabled children in Romania.As a teenager I took the opportunity of a youth trip to Romania that changed my life. I met a kid called Mihai who was abandoned because he had epilepsy and was growing up in an orphanage. I also had epilepsy but had been given the opportunity to go on this trip. Although we were the same the lives we were leading were very different. My dream is for a world where children like Mihai will not be abandoned or overlooked and where they will be given the same chances and opportunities as everyone else. I want to encourage others to take up a torch and do something - search for opportunities where they can make a difference. Giving choices to those who have none and speaking up for those who have no voice is not only worthwhile but critical.
