Richard's nomination story

(Equiniti Group) Born with cystic fibrosis, Richard has battled with the loss of his twin sister through the same condition and also his mum, whilst living with the deterioration of his own condition. One year ago he was lucky enough to benefit from a lung transplant. He inspires others, through being positive, working hard and carrying on with life, whilst not letting his condition affect him. Since is ground braking surgery, her now celebrates two birthdays, the one he was born and the one that gave him his new life. Richard is committed to raising money for and awareness of the organ donation charity. He took aprt in the British Transplant games in Belfast, winning a silver and bronze medal in archery and running. He speaks publically about his experiences and has received and inspirational award from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
