Richard is a Scout leader in the community and gives up a great deal of his own time outside work to lead and support youngsters in the local community. Richard is so well respected in the Scouts that he was chosen to go to Delhi to participate in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games and will is very active in the preparations for the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and this has been as a reward to him for his dedication.
He is a strong supporter of sports despite not being a sportsperson himself and in his role as a Scout leader he encourages this excitement in sport with the children he leads. Richard has a massive impact on the community. These kids looks up to him and if they didn't have Scouting as a focus to develop and support them a lot of these kids would be out on the streets being subject to other not so positive influences!
Richard is a great role model for young people. He is well known in the local community and I think this gives customers confidence in Richard within the branch. I think that if Richard is successful he would be representing two great institutions - The Boy Scouts and The Bank of Scotland. I know that all in Kirkintilloch and the Glasgow North area would be very proud to see him there.
