Whilst serving as a navigator in the RAF from 1974 to 2010 Reg was involved with outdoor pursuits (mountaineering, skiing, sailing, shhoting) and working with youth groups (scouts and ATC); I also became actively involved with local churches. On moving to South Warnborough with his family in 1995 he became chairman of the `Friends of St Andrew`s Church` and was prominent in co-ordinating the fund raising for a £250,000 project to repair the facilities within the church. His chairmanship on the fundrasing committee continues along with planned giving officer, churchyard mowing co-ordination PCC member and stwerdship committees member. Before leaving the RAF along with a collegue he raised £1500 for Help for Heroes and on retirement raised a further 32500 by walking the 192 miles of Wainwrights coast to coast walk. As a fellow of the royal institue of naviagation he is am a committee memeber responsible for their young navigation challenge.
