Everyone gets something out of their community in some form it makes me feel good to be able to give something back.I am a British Red Cross volunteer. As a young child i suffered badly from asthma attacks on several occassions first aid trained volunteers helped me. Since then i have always wanted to give something back. I attend local events as medical cover its such a good feeling knowing that you've helped save/changed someones life. I believe everyone knowing the basic first aid skills can safe many more lifes because of this i am also a peer educator and teach my peers the basic first aid skills that one day could safe their friends life. I also am involved in several projects working with other young people trying to encourage them to volunteer and realise what opportunities there are waiting for them and how much fun it can be!
