As a tourism student I am very interested in the Olympics and the work we have been doing on it has only expanded that interest and made me want to get involved. As well as my studies I sit on the committee for the St John Ambulance university division and teach first aid to students once a week. In 2010 I ran 3 miles for Sport Relief (raising over £200) and have already started training to do it again in 2012. I`ve found volunteering to be incredibly rewarding even if it only involves selling cakes for St John Ambulance or bucketeering for Children In Need. After holding the Olympic Torch when it visited my university I could not help but applying to do something truly awesome and take my Olympic studies to the next level by applying to be part of it.
