Becky's nomination story

Becky is a truly inspirational person. She is gentle, caring and kind. She puts others before herself in her work, her sport and in her life. She consistently strives to be the best that she can be. Becky currently is the oldest player in the newly formed Womens Football Super League. She currently plays for Everton, having represented several clubs in a career spanning 13 years. She has won every domestic title and played in the Champions League. She continues to encourage, support and advise the youngsters in Liverpool and the surrounding areas and gives freely of her time to work with them. She provides a role model of the highest order. She has 44 caps for her country and has captained the England team. She was International Player of the Year in 2001. Becky is totally committed to her full time job as a podiatrist with the NHS for the past 13 years. She has dedicated her working life to improving the quality of the elderly patients in her care as well as supporting them and bringing humour and a smile to their lives. She deserves her time to shine and would be so proud to carry the Olympic torch.
