Carrying the Flame on
Ray's nomination story

my dad has always been a loving man. every day he gets up with the ambition to help someone and make a change.

he has a a passion for helping, this is shown due to the fact he has created a foster care business. he is also a foster carer of 2 young boys.

i know of one young child he grew close to , the boy ended up in prison and he writes to my dad whenever he gets the chance saying how sorry he is for messing up. i know that my dad made a change to his life and it shows as he still keeps in touch.

my dad visits his parents everyday and never fails to keep in touch with them.

he has also done alot of charity work, running 12 marathons in 12 months to raise money for an army charity. aside from that he has helped to raise money for macmillan cancer support too.

he has been a big inspiration in my life as every week he helps me train to fulfill my ambition of being a basketball player. he is constantly under stress from work and trying to help out others but that doesnt stop him.

i know that he has always wanted to be in the olympics as he is a very sporting person.

my dad goes the extra mile in every single day of life trying to make just a small change to the world or someones life. i think that he deserves to have the honour of carrying the olympic flame and have a change made in his life instead of him making the change in other peoples lifes.
